Sterling College was included as one of only 38 schools in the Midwest who were named to the 2022 U.S. News & World Report list for Social Mobility. The list highlights “colleges [that] are more successful than others at advancing social mobility by enrolling and graduating large proportions of disadvantaged students.”
Alumni will travel back to Sterling College to experience the Homecoming 2022 festivities.

Beginning on Thursday, Oct. 6, alumni will travel back to Sterling College to experience the Homecoming 2022 festivities, many of which the community is invited to attend.
On Thursday, Sterling College Theatre will present the opening of Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” in Culbertson Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Registration, tickets and additional information for all Homecoming events can be found at sterling.edu/homecoming.

The ever-popular holiday movie “White Christmas” is well-loved for three main things: its warm-hearted story, the wonderful Irving Berlin songs, and the dancing which includes tap, jazz, and ballroom. It’s also been called “a costume extravaganza” and with good reason – there are over 300 costumes in the show.
Sterling College Music Theatre will present Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, October 6, 7, and 8 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, October 9 at 2 p.m. in Culbertson Auditorium on the Sterling College campus.
“White Christmas” tells the story of two Army buddies who hit it big in showbiz.

Taking a beloved movie musical and bringing it to life on the stage is a challenge. Such was the case when adapters created Irving Berlin’s White Christmas which will be staged by Sterling College Music Theatre on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, October 6, 7, and 8 at 7:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 9.

The Sterling College Criminal Justice program will host Anthony W. Mattivi, retired Assistant US Attorney, for its keynote lecture on Thursday, October 6. The College will host Mattivi at 7 p.m. in Heritage Hall in Cooper Hall. The public is invited to attend this free event.
“Mr. Mattavi has a wealth of experience as a federal prosecutor, including some very interesting high-profile cases. I’m excited for our students to get to hear Tony’s presentation,” said Dr. Mark Tremaine, associate professor of criminal justice.
Student transfer opportunities expanded today after the Kansas Community Colleges and Kansas Independent Colleges announced initiation of a Global Transfer and Course Articulation Agreement that paves the way for students to seamlessly transfer from any Kansas Community College to any Kansas non-profit college or university.

He is a man with two names who has studied mathematics, philosophy, and art. He has had numerous essays published in publications like “The New Criterion.” Until four months ago, he and his wife and four children, all under the age of 13, were living on a 28-foot sailboat off the coast of Florida. Now, he and his family live in land-locked Sterling, KS where he spends days in front of Sterling College students studying Art & Design as well as working on his own art.

Why would a young man travel 1200 miles to attend a college he had never seen before and major in a field he had never experienced before? That’s what Torey Wilson did in the fall of 2018. Coming from Rural Hall, NC to end up majoring in Theatre though he had never been onstage or worked backstage for a theatre production.
