Three students studying accounting got a first-hand look at what it was like to be a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Kansas on Nov. 14 when they traveled to the Kansas Society of CPAs Annual Meeting in Wichita.
The Sterling Community Band will be playing with the Sterling College Flute Choir on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will take place on the campus of Sterling College in Upper Wilson in Wilson Hall and last approximately one hour. The public is invited to attend this free concert.
Advent officially begins on Sunday, Dec. 2, and the Sterling College Chorale, Highland Singers and Sterling Lasses are welcoming in the season with “Candlelight,” a free concert at the Sterling United Methodist Church at 3 p.m. The public is invited to attend and stay for the reception following the concert.
Seniors Carly Cramton of Pretty Prairie, Kan., and Tillie (Wilbeck) Ehresman of Inman, Kan., were nominated as Sterling College’s fall Teachers of Promise.
Zach Taylor of Waukegan, Ill., will open his senior show at Sterling College on Thursday, Nov. 29, from 5-7 p.m. in the Art and Media Center gallery. Taylor’s show, “Click,” will display works of digital photography that he has developed over the semester.
Tillie (Wilbeck) Ehresman, senior at Sterling College, will perform her senior recital at the Sterling United Presbyterian Church on Monday, Nov. 26. The vocal recital will begin at 7 p.m. and last approximately 50 minutes. The public is invited to attend this free event.
Sterling College Assistant Professor Hanna Kozlowski-Slone was invited to participate in “Lost Horizon,” an international juried exhibition displaying art about history at Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Nine Warrior football players have been given All-KCAC Honors. Denton Hudspeth received both Second Team All-KCAC and Honorable Mention All-KCAC honors. Brian Noller and Kerby Rice were named to the All-KCAC Second Team. Jesse Kendig, Aric Hook, Kyle Finder, Mat Schmidt, Jordan Coleman, and James Morley were all named Honorable Mention All-KCAC.
Dr. David Briones, assistant professor of theology and ministry at Sterling College, will travel to Chicago Nov. 16-20 to present at the Institute for Biblical Research Annual Meeting. Briones will present his work on Paul’s relationship with the church in 2 Corinthians.
