The Dean’s List for the fall of 2012 semester has been released. Criteria for the Dean’s List include the completion of at least 12 graded credit hours and a cumulative and semester GPA of 3.5 or better. This semester 178 students met these criteria. The following students were named to the list.
“Moving to Forgotten” by Sterling College alumna Jodi Lightner ’01 will be on display in the Sterling College Art and Media Center gallery in an upcoming exhibit featuring Lightner’s work. The exhibit, "Escape Route (Flight)," opens this Thursday, Feb. 28, with a reception from 5-7 p.m.
Senior Jackie Wilkerson stars as Medea in Sterling College’s spring play, “Medea,” which opens Thursday, Feb. 28, at 8 p.m. and runs through Saturday, March 2, in Culbertson Auditorium.
Due to inclement weather, the Sterling College campus will be closed, Monday, Feb. 25. This means that all classes are cancelled and all campus offices will be closed at that time. The cafeteria will be open regular hours.
Jodi Lightner ’01 will be showcasing her artwork in an exhibit at Sterling College on Thursday, Feb. 28, with a reception from 5-7 p.m. in the Art and Media Center gallery. Lightner’s show, “Escape Route (Flight),” will display works created with acrylic, ink, graphite and oil on Mylar that she has developed over the past three years.
The renowned 5th century Greek tragedy “Medea” is transformed into a futuristic production for this year’s Sterling College spring play. Under the direction of Assistant Professor of Theatre Matthew Winning, the show will open Thursday, Feb. 28, at 8 p.m. in Culbertson Auditorium and will run through Saturday, March 2.
Due to the growing snow accumulations, the Sterling College campus will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 21. This means that all classes are cancelled and all campus offices will be closed at that time. The cafeteria will be open regular hours.
Over 40 students and teachers from Kansas high schools came to Sterling College to participate in art workshops on Friday, Feb. 15. The students attended three workshops of their choice covering concept art, photo transfer, costumed figure drawing and pointillism painting. Workshops were led by Assistant Professors of Art Hanna Kozlowski-Slone and Daniel Swartz and Sterling College students.
Beginning with the freshman class of 2013, Sterling College is now offering an opportunity to incoming students that will ensure they can finish their degrees within four years. The Four-Year Guarantee was created so that any freshman who completes the set requirements will be able to graduate within the intended time frame. If a student meets all of the requirements and is not able to complete their degree in that period of time, Sterling College will pay the tuition it takes to finish.
