Enrollment data for the 2017-18 academic year is out, with record-breaking numbers from Sterling College. With 218 first-time freshmen, the College has recruited the largest incoming class in its history and the fifth largest total headcount with 703 students. Sterling College continues to grow in diversity through its ethnicity statistics and international students, publishing 34 percent of students claiming an ethnicity other than white.
Sterling College announced that 87 students were enrolled in their dual credit program with Sterling High School and Berean Academy High School

With a large increase from previous years, Sterling College announced that 87 students were enrolled in their dual credit program with Sterling High School and Berean Academy High School. This is the highest enrollment of dual credit high school students in Sterling College’s history as a four-year college.

Only 92 schools in the Midwest were named to the 2018 U.S. News & World Report list for Best Regional Colleges, and Sterling College received such recognition. The Sterling College Online Learning program was named to the 2018 Best Online Bachelor’s Programs as well.

Sterling College will host poet Janine Joseph on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at 4 p.m. in Cornerstone in the Student Union. Joseph will read selections of her work and sign books after the reading. Books will be for sale at the event and in the Sterling College Bookstore. The free event is open to the public.

"Dust to Dust: A photographic retrospective of the Dust Bowl" will open Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, with a reception from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery of the Art and Media Center. The exhibit will feature approximately 35 prints from the National Library of Congress’ collection, along with reprinted photographs from the families of Sterling College professors Tom Bronleewe and Dr. Jonathan Conard, and articles from Sterling’s newspaper, “The Bulletin.”
The conference begins at 6 p.m. in Heritage Hall in Cooper Hall with keynote speaker Dr. Hank Lederle, former faculty member at Sterling College

The Sterling College Department of Theology and Ministry announced its new conference, “Semper Reformanda: Always Being Reformed,” to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation taking place on Tuesday, Oct. 10. The conference begins at 6 p.m. in Heritage Hall in Cooper Hall with keynote speaker Dr. Hank Lederle, former faculty member at Sterling College. The public is invited to attend this free event.
