Sterling, Kan. – Central Christian traveled from McPherson to take on the Sterling College Lady Warriors Soccer Team on Tuesday night, finding SC too much to handle as the Lady Warriors downed the Tigers 5-1. Five different players scored for SC in the game as Sterling won its second straight match on its way to a 2-1 start to the 2011 Season.
Wichita, Kan. – Senior Women's Soccer player Karina Noah was named the KCAC Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in Sterling College's two matches over the weekend. Noah scored four goals and had one assist on the week, good enough to garner nine points and the recognition from the conference.
Sterling, Kan. – In the final match of the Sterling Invitational, the Sterling College Lady Warrior Volleyball Team completed a sweep of the tournament by winning in three sets over Johnson and Wales University of Denver. In the tournament, the Lady Warriors won every set that they played and have only lost one set on the season.
Sara Steria recorded a double-double in the match, killing the ball 11 times while digging the ball 10 times. Steria had a big tournament for SC and led the Lady Warriors offensively in the tournament.
Sterling, Kan. – The Sterling College Lady Warrior Soccer Team picked up their first win this afternoon in a 5-2 victory over St. Gregory's from Oklahoma at SC Soccer Stadium.
Karina Noah put the game away early with a first half hat trick, finding the net three times for the first three goals of the match. St. Gregory's would be unable to fully recover and Sterling would take a 4-1 lead into the half when Courtney Brand would score off of a Noah assist.
Sterling, Kan. – The Sterling College Warrior Men's Soccer match started with a bang this afternoon with two goals in the first 15 minutes of the match. Each team would account for one of the two goals and that score would not change throughout the rest of the 110 minutes played between SC and St. Gregory's. When the final horn sounded, SC had tied St. Gregory's at one goal apiece.
Sterling, Kan. – At Smisor Stadium on Saturday night, the Sterling College Warrior defense would force six interceptions by the Benedictine College Ravens, but would not be able to put together any offensive drives. BC's two scoring drives would be enough to give the Ravens a 14-0 win over SC.
Six separate Warriors would pick off BC quarterback Bill Noonan. Mike Talton, Brian Noller, Sean Metsdagh, Cory Dunbar, Tate Arnold, and Andrew Fajardo would all have a pick in the game.
Sterling, Kan. – Early Saturday morning, the Sterling College Lady Warrior Volleyball Team continued their dominance in the Sterling Invitational at the Gleason Center with a three set victory of the Crusaders from Dallas Christian College.
The Lady Warriors were more than a few steps ahead of the Crusaders in talent and skill, meaning playing time for the SC bench. Seventeen different Lady Warriors saw the court in the match.
Sterling, Kan. – The Sterling College Lady Warrior Volleyball Team capped off a perfect first day of the Sterling College Invitational with a three set victory over the Eagles from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in the Gleason Center on Friday night.
Sterling, Kan. – In their 2011 home opener, the Sterling College Men's Soccer Team fell to Oklahoma Wesleyan University by a score of 1-5 at SC Soccer Stadium on Friday evening.
Wesleyan's Julio Rodarte started the scoring in the 12th minute with a goal on SC's Jordan Cabrera, and Lucas Almeida increased the lead to two goals in the 35th minute. OWU carried that 2-0 lead into halftime.
Sterling, Kan.-The Lady Warriors played host to the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles Friday afternoon at SC Soccer Field. Though it was a hard fought game by both squads, Sterling eventually fell to the Eagles 2-1.
