Two years of teaching in China is not usually on the résumé of a resident director at Sterling College, but that is the case for new Resident Director Josh Wisner. Wisner spent two years teaching English classes in China after graduating from Sterling College in 2007. During his College career Wisner played on the SC men's basketball team, served as a resident assistant for two years and was named the Outstanding Male Student of the Year.
Being physically, emotionally and spiritually stretched is common when going on a summer mission trip. Sterling College's team to Guatemala looks to be no different. On June 2, a team from Sterling College will be going to Chiquimula, Guatemala for two weeks.
While in Guatemala, the team will be speaking to large school assemblies, helping with Sunday morning services and taking relief food to mountain villages where poverty and hunger prevail.
Having six children and 11 grandchildren attend your alma mater is no easy feat, but that is the case for Distinguished Service Award winner Reverend Don Ray. Ray, a Sterling College graduate of 1962, received the award during Sterling's 118th commencement on May 22.
