Sterling College will welcome Dr. Jeff Myers, president of Summit Ministries, on Friday, April 6, 2018, for the spring Ross and Fern Freeman Lecture Series for Servant Leadership. The Freeman Lecture Series speaker will deliver his speech at 10 a.m. in Culbertson Auditorium on the campus of Sterling College. The public is invited to attend.
The Undergraduate Humanities Conference will take place March 24 in Cooper Hall.

The second annual Undergraduate Humanities Conference at Sterling College will take place March 24 in Cooper Hall. This year’s conference is themed “Reformations,” with plenary speaker Jemar Tisby, president of The Witness: A Black Christian Collective. The morning will include four undergraduate presentations titled “Reformations in Approaching God,” “Reformations in Racial Issues,” “Reformations in Literature,” and “Reformations in America.” The public is invited to all presentations.
The Love Sterling Planning Committee is asking for community members to submit their projects for the ninth annual Love Sterling event.

The Love Sterling Planning Committee is asking for community members to submit their projects for the ninth annual Love Sterling event, set to take place April 28. On the day of Love Sterling, groups of Sterling College students spread throughout the community to complete projects such as landscaping, deep cleaning, painting and more.
For more than 30 years, Sterling College has hosted a theatre workshop for high school students from all over the state.

For more than 30 years, Sterling College has hosted a theatre workshop for high school students from all over the state. This year, however, the event spanned two days with workshops and a matinee performance on Monday, followed by a second matinee performance on Tuesday for an additional set of schools. The Monday workshops were led by Sterling College faculty, students, alumni and professionals and covered a range of topics relating to theatre.
A book launch party for Aaron Brown's “Acacia Road” will be held on March 27 at 5 p.m. in the SC Art and Media Center.

A book launch party for “Acacia Road,” written by Aaron Brown, Sterling College assistant professor, will be held on March 27 at 5 p.m. in the gallery of the College’s Art and Media Center. Brown will read excerpts from his book shortly after 5 p.m. He will have books available for purchase and signing at the event.

Sterling College has unveiled plans for strategic growth through its SterlingNOW Capital Campaign. SterlingNOW, the College’s largest capital campaign to date with a goal of $25 million, seeks to upgrade science and academic facilities, renovate and expand Gleason Physical Education Center and grow the College’s endowment. Sterling College has been challenged by the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation with a proposed $2 million from the foundation if the challenge is met.
Dara Quastad has earned her way to the American Forensics Association National Tournament in persuasive speaking.

Dara Quastad of Inman, Kansas, is still a novice in years of forensics practice, but she has again earned her way to the American Forensics Association National Tournament in persuasive speaking. Quastad and teammate Stephen Jenkins of Topeka, Kansas, earned champion and runner-up, respectively, in persuasive speaking at the AFA District 3 National Individual Events Tournament hosted March 3 in Norman, Oklahoma.

Found in the archives of Sterling College, 14 photographic prints have been restored and are on display in the gallery of the Sterling College Art and Media Center. The majority of the prints are tintypes, a photographic process used in the mid-19th century, and will be on display through March 29, 2018. The public is invited to view “The Sterling Tintypes,” which will be open weekdays March 5-9 and March 19-29 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Sterling College Highland Singers will tour March 9-18.

The Sterling College Highland Singers will tour March 9-18, making their first stop in Fruita, Colorado, for a Friday evening concert. The 18-voice mixed choir will sing a variety of selections including classic, sacred and choral settings of contemporary worship music.
