Returning to his Alma Mater, Larry Brownlee ’80 joined Sterling College as a full-time faculty member with over 35 years of experience as an instrumental music teacher. Previously a full-time faculty member at Sterling High School, Larry has taught instrumental music in three school systems at elementary through high school levels, coached athletics, served as sponsor for numerous extracurricular clubs, and served as an adjudicator for multiple music festivals and competitions. He earned his M.M.Ed. from Wichita State University, his B.A. in Music: Education from Sterling College, and has completed post-graduate work at six different institutions. He directs all of the instrumental ensembles on campus, including Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, and various Chamber Ensembles.
