Kansas City, Kan. - Sterling College's Cody Brazelton has been named to the 2011 NAIA Division II Men's Basketball All-America Third Team for the first time. The NAIA announced the All-America Teams this afternoon on the NAIA website. Brazelton earned the All-American Honors in his junior season for Sterling this season.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

Sioux City, Iowa - Britany Gasper starred in her final game as a Sterling College Lady Warrior, scoring 29 points in the 103-66 loss to top seeded Northwestern College (Iowa). Northwestern was on fire from the field in the game, shooting 0.576 from the field and 0.545 from the three point line. Point Lookout, MO - The Sterling College Warriors battled and nearly beat the Eagles of Oklahoma Wesleyan University in a two day marathon that spanned Thursday night and Friday morning. In the overtime game, OWU's Sadiel Rojas single handedly lead the Eagles to victory scoring 42 points and pulling down 23 rebounds in the 81-82 loss for Sterling. Zach Goodrich led the Warriors in his final game for Sterling College, scoring 19 points and pulling down three rebounds to cap off a phenomenal career.

Sterling, Kan. - The Sterling College Warrior baseball team opened up the 2011 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) regular season with three wins over the McPherson College Bulldogs, a first year baseball program. Sterling won one game on Friday in McPherson 3-0 and won two games in Sterling on Saturday 10-0 and 11-1. The two will face off in the fourth game of the home and home series today at 5:00 pm in McPherson.

Valley City State is the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) Tournament Champion with an overall record of 23-8 and is currently ranked at no. 19 in the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll. Wichita, Kan. - The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) released its All-Conference Awards during "Championship Monday" at Hartman Arena. Sterling College players and coaches won 11 awards highlighted by Coach Lonnie Kruse winning KCAC Coach of the Year and Britany Gasper winning KCAC Player of the Year.
