Sterling, Kan. - Hot shooting by the University of Saint Mary doomed the Sterling College Warriors men's basketball team on Saturday night at the Gleason Center. Saint Mary hit 8 of 19 three point attempts for a total on 24 points on their way to a 63-53 victory over Sterling. The loss drops Sterling to 2-2 in the KCAC, one game out of first place.
Sterling College Athletic Director Andy Lambert announces today the hiring of John Harding as head volleyball coach for the Lady Warriors.
Harding comes to Sterling College from Cordova High School in Cordova, Alaska, where he has led the Wolverines for nine seasons. Under his leadership the team went to the Alaska State Championships eight times; finishing as champions in 2005,
The Warrior Athletic Association announced that the Warrior Wood & Wedge golf tournament will once again be held again at the Highlands Golf Club in Hutchinson, Kansas. This athletic fundraiser will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010.
On Saturday, April 10, the Sterling College track team members did something they haven't done in a very long time. They competed at home. Due to the recent track renovation-which included a track surface installed in the summer of 2009 and a new discus and hammer ring installed just this spring-Sterling College was able to hold a home track meet for the first time in over a decade as the host of the ACCK Championships.
