When Sterling College’s production of “Cocktails with Mimi” opens this weekend, Stuart Parman’s role in it—though a sizeable one—will not be his greatest contribution to the show. Though he enjoys acting, his passion is set design, and the set of “Cocktails with Mimi” reflects that. For Parman, set design is an art, “a way for me to express my vision.” It has been part of his entire Sterling College experience—and he hopes it is part of his future as well.

Dr. Colin Bailey and his wife Joan Bailey have committed an irrevocable “legacy gift” in the amount of $1,000,000 to fund an Endowed Chair of Theatre at Sterling College. The endowed chair will bear the names of Gordon Kling and Diane DeFranco-Kling, who have taught in the College’s theatre department for a combined 81 years of service.

Big Bird, monkeys, piglets, gargoyles, and the Virgin Mary-the subjects of Jeremie Riggleman's art are very eclectic, and his photographs of them are on display at the Sterling College Art Center. His solo exhibition, which came about through his connections with Sterling College Art Professor David Harmon, features photographs of lawn ornaments.

This spring the Sterling College math department is offering a game theory class as part of its “Special Topics” series. According to Assistant Professor of Mathematics Daniel Callahan, who is teaching the course, this is unusual. “All three of the ‘Special Topics’ courses we are offering are not usually available at smaller schools. In order to take a game theory class, a student might have to attend K-State or leave the Midwest altogether,” said Callahan.
