Juniors Lynette Bosch of Wichita, Kan., and Kaitlynne Turner of Washington, Kan., have been named Teachers of Promise by the Kansas State Department of Education.
The Student Government Association will host a blood drive in association with the American Red Cross on Monday, March 5 from 12:30-5:30 in the West Cafeteria on the Sterling College campus.
Jim Griggs’ photography is on display in the gallery of the Sterling College Art Center from Feb. 3 through March 7. Griggs has been published in many magazines such as The Nature Conservancy, Africa Geographic, The Sierra Club, Shutterbug, Wyoming Wildlife, Kiplinger’s Retirement Magazine, and National Geographic.
Offense wins games. Defense wins championships. On Monday night at Hartman Arena in Park City, Kan., defense won a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship for the Sterling College Lady Warriors.
The debate team has achieved another significant milestone. Senior Jessica Brayton of Lyons, Kan., and junior Nolan Chaney, of Hutchinson, Kan., have been selected to participate in the National Parliamentary Debate Tournament of Excellence (NPTE).
A new policy has made it easier for transfer students to join Sterling College. The Guaranteed Admission Advantage (GAA) ensures that many Kansas community college students will receive special benefits.
Last September, Sterling College junior Rebecca Barnes traveled a long way from her hometown of Hiawatha, Kan., - 8,889 miles, to be exact. Barnes traveled to Coimbatore, a city in Tamil Nadu, India, where she lived for three and a half months.
