Sterling College announced Carrie McGlynn is stepping into the role of assistant director of admissions. McGlynn has been with Sterling College in the Admissions Office for 12 years, this year moving from senior admissions counselor to assistant director of admissions. She will continue to work with prospective students for specific majors but will also assist in developing and implementing new communications efforts, social media strategies and helping with the student ambassador program.

Sterling College has announced its new vice president for student life, Jason Briar ’99. In this role, Briar will be essential to the student experience through leading the student life staff and working with the Campus Activities Board and Student Government Association.
“Jason is a great addition to our student life staff. Having a history of leadership in education and a familiarity with Sterling College will allow him to jump in as we prepare for the upcoming academic year,” said Scott Rich, president.
Sterling College Online Learning is lowering its undergraduate online tuition rate to $135 per credit hour.

Sterling College Online Learning has announced it is lowering its undergraduate online tuition rate to $135 per credit hour for the 2018-19 academic year. The new online rate represents a significant savings and makes Sterling one of the lowest online tuition prices in the state of Kansas and across the nation. The new rate begins with the Fall I semester, which starts on Monday, August 27.

The Spring Dean’s Honor Roll for Sterling College recognized 170 students for their academic accomplishment. Students named to the list completed the semester with a 3.5 GPA or better in at least 12 credits of residential work or 10 credits of online work. Eligible students did not receive an F or incomplete in any course.

Creating a unified effort to help students reach their goals, Sterling College announced the formation of the Office of Student Success. The mission of the office is to partner with campus administrators in providing stronger relationships with Sterling College students, and is “committed to planning, processing and developing retention efforts to create academic growth, promote achievement, and encourage students to utilize their talents, skills and abilities to pursue meaningful careers and service to God and others.”

With four years of hard work and service behind them, Sterling College seniors Anna Adamyk of McPherson, Kansas, and Adam Wilgers of Elbing, Kansas, were named the 2018 Outstanding Female and Male Graduates in conjunction with the Fran Jabara Leadership Award.
The awards are given to two students who exemplify outstanding academic achievement, leadership skills and involvement, and who portray an enthusiastically Christian faith. They must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher and are voted upon by faculty and staff.
