The Sterling College Criminal Justice program will host Stephen R. McAllister, United States Attorney for the District of Kansas, for its keynote lecture on Monday, October 22, 2018. The College will host McAllister at 7 p.m. in Heritage Hall in Cooper Hall with a public question-and-answer forum immediately afterward. The public is invited to attend this free event.

Phil ‘85 and Laila Brownlee ’85 were awarded the Sterling College Alumni Award on Oct. 5, for their continual dedication to the College and their lifetime of service to the community. Presented at the Alumni Banquet and Award Ceremony, the Brownlees were celebrated along with Distinguished Service Award winner Paul Buchanan ’53 and Young Alumni Award winner Jonathon Federwiesch ’05.

Sterling College has announced it has raised $20 million in gifts and pledges towards the building projects for the SterlingNOW Capital Campaign, meeting the requirements of the $2 million challenge grant offered by the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation of Tulsa, Okla. Since Sterling achieved this goal by the deadline, the Mabee Foundation will provide a grant of $2 million, which completes the fundraising goal of the campaign’s construction projects, including a new science and research center.

Sterling College hosted representatives from Wichita State University to formally sign pre-engineering articulation agreements to benefit Sterling College students who wish to further their engineering training. The signing took place on the Sterling College campus on Sept. 21.
