In 2016, students will get to meet the newest members of the Sterling College faculty. Timothy Gabrielson will fill the position of assistant professor of theology and ministry beginning in the spring semester of 2016 and Emily Grace will be joining Sterling in the fall semester as the assistant professor of physics.
Lambert replaces his brother, Andy, who accepted the head coaching position at Southern Nazarene University.

The Sterling College Athletic Department announced that Chuck Lambert has accepted the head coaching position for the Sterling football program.
“We are excited to begin the next era of Sterling football under Head Coach Chuck Lambert,” said Athletic Director Gary Kempf, “Chuck brings a wealth of knowledge and a history of excellence. He understands the mission of the College and values the personal development of our student-athletes. We look forward to his leadership and the future is bright for Sterling football.”

The Sterling College Athletic Department announced the resignation of Head Football Coach Andy Lambert on Tuesday. Lambert moves on to become the head football coach at NCAA Div. II Southern Nazarene University.
“Our 12 years at Sterling College and in the community have been fantastic. The support and kindness has been overwhelming,” said Head Coach Andy Lambert, “We are sad to leave and also excited to move on to this new challenge.”

On Dec. 4-5, Sterling College students and the Sterling community will have the opportunity to experience a contemplative show with a political theme. For his senior project, Elijah Klein of Valley Center, Kansas, will direct a small cast in performing the drama “Far Away,” written by Caryl Churchill, in Culbertson Auditorium at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4-5, and will last approximately an hour. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Four Sterling College alumni were honored at the Alumni Banquet on Oct. 23 for excellence in their career, service to others and loyalty to their Alma Mater. The highest alumni award, the Distinguished Service Award, was presented to John ’60 and Catherine (Learned) fs’61 Grove of Goleta, California. Receiving the Alumni Award was Dr. Kenneth J. Niermann ’97 of Nashville, Tennessee, and the Young Alumni Award recipient for 2015 was Joshua D. Boos ’12 of Dallas, Texas.
Evelyn Mandell of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Hayley Ray of Derby, Kansas, have received the honor of being named Sterling College’s Teachers of Promise for the fall semester.

Due to her successful participation in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Youth of the Year competition, Sterling College freshman Alliyah Gray of Hutchinson, Kansas, won the title of Kansas Youth of Year and received over $40,000 in scholarship funds to support her while she pursues a degree at Sterling College.
