Dr. Sarah Waters

Dr. Sarah Waters comes to Sterling College from the University of Buckingham, England where she was a Lecturer in English Literature. She grew up in the East of England in Ely, Cambridgeshire before moving to the University of Buckingham where she majored in English literature with a minor in French and then went on to a Master of Arts in English Literature with a dissertation centered on Narnia and Shakespeare. She completed her Ph.D. in English literature at Oxford Brookes University, with a thesis situated in the field of medical humanities entitled “Early Modern Melancholia and Present-Day Depression: A Comparative Study of the Female Experience in Dramatic and Medical Sources.” Her present research interests encompass her work on Shakespeare and C.S. Lewis, and she speaks and publishes regularly on Lewis and Shakespeare. She enjoys running, cycling, and archive adventures. As a lover of big skies, she's very excited to be here in Kansas where, with snow blanketing the fields and corn poking its way through, she has already been treated to some spectacular sunsets and sunrises across the beautiful great plains.
