Brent has over 22 years working in the parks and recreation industry, primarily on the local government level. For nearly 20 years he has served as the Superintendent of Recreation in Cheney, Kansas. During his years he oversaw a highly progressive department that continues to grow in programming and facilities.

Brent served on the state Kansas Recreation and Parks Association executive board for 12 years. He also created multiple workshops and assisted with state conference planning that often included serving as a speaker and presenter in many continuing education sessions.

He is a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional, Certified Youth Sports Administrator, Certified Marketer-NRPA, Certified Aquatics Facilities Operator, Certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid, and a Certified High School Sports Official for over 20 years.

Brent and his wife Julie have been married for 20 years and have 3 children, Marcus, Jaelynn, and Carter.
