Sterling College has announced grants from the South Central Community Foundation and the Max and Charlene Moxley Charitable Trust to support renovations of the McCreight Track at Smisor Stadium. Together, the grants provide nearly all of the needed funds to restripe the track.

Sterling College will welcome Nikki Lerner, artist, speaker and author, on Friday, April 3, 2020, for the spring Ross and Fern Freeman Lecture Series for Servant Leadership. The Freeman Lecture Series speaker will deliver her message at 10 a.m. in Culbertson Auditorium on the campus of Sterling College. The public is invited to attend. 

Sterling College's Music and Theatre Departments will present Engelbert Humperdinck's opera “Hansel and Gretel” to the Sterling community on January 24-25 at 7:30 p.m. The opera will take place in Culbertson Auditorium on the Sterling College campus. Tickets are available by donation at the door.

“Hansel and Gretel” will be the first opera put on at Sterling in over two decades. 

Students interested in pursuing nursing have a new opportunity at Sterling College. Sterling announced it has signed an articulation agreement with Hesston College that will guarantee qualified Sterling students admission to Hesston’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The agreement is effective immediately. 

The Sterling Teacher Education Program (STEP) at Sterling College is hosting an accreditation visit by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) from April 26 - April 28, 2020.  Interested parties are invited to submit third-party comments to Nancy Hicks, STEP Administrative Assistant and Licensure Officer.

Sterling College will host its Spiritual Emphasis Week on February 5-7, 2020, culminating with the College’s sixth annual Peacemakers Convocation at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 7. The convocation will feature Henry Thompson as the featured speaker. Thompson is an associate pastor at Christ Community Church in Kansas City. The public is invited to attend the event, which is held in Culbertson Auditorium. 

Sterling College will present a special screening of the documentary “Emanuel” on Monday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend the event, which will be held in Culbertson Auditorium.
