Luke Cureton ’03 is returning to Sterling College’s Office of Institutional Advancement as the director of development for annual programs.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Luke to the team. His 21-year affiliation with Sterling will prove beneficial to building relationships with alumni and friends that will lead to increased giving,” said Scott Carter, vice president for institutional advancement and external relations.

“Cureton will manage annual giving programs, including The Sterling Fund, and targeted campaigns for athletics, churches and companies. He will also handle advancement business operations and play an important role in creating pathways for alumni participation throughout campus,” said Carter

Cureton graduated from Sterling College with a B.S. in Business Administration and completed his M.Ed. in Sports Administration from Wichita State University. He served on the Warriors coaching staff since 2009 as head of men’s and women’s golf, and also assisted the men’s basketball team. Cureton has also held roles in the College’s admissions office and advancement office from 2003-06. He will continue to serve as an assistant men’s basketball coach for the 2014-15 academic year.

Cureton is the son of alumni Al ’76 and Gayle (Tedford) ’75. Al Cureton served on the College’s Board of Trustees for a number of years and is the president of University of Northwestern - St. Paul. Luke’s wife, Erin, works in the Office of Admissions as the visit experience coordinator.
