Sterling College seniors Anita Bunney of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kelly Valentine of Sterling, Kan., will have their Senior Art Exhibition on display at the Art and Design Center from April 1-16. The reception in their honor will be held on Friday, April 8 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the Art and Design Center gallery.
Bunney is an Art and Design major with an emphasis in Studio and Fine Art. Her artwork features a variety of mediums including digital and manual photography, painting, drawing, and sculpture. After graduation, Bunney plans to pursue a career as a freelance digital photographer. “My passion is to capture the beauty all around us that often gets overlooked,” said Bunney. “I enjoy doing this through my camera lens.”
Valentine is a double major, majoring in both Business Administration and Art and Design with an emphasis in Studio and Fine Art. Her artwork features digital and manual photography, glasswork, and painting. Valentine hopes to focus on business by working in banking or insurance after graduation. “My ultimate goal with my art is to be able to open up my own photography studio someday,” said Valentine. “I love taking pictures and capturing special moments for people.”
The exhibition is free and open to the public and features work of various mediums. The Art and Design Center is located on the corner of 8th and Washington Streets in Sterling. The Center is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
