Sterling College Announces Zero-Cost Textbook Initiative for select General Education courses

Sterling College is excited to announce the launch of its Zero-Cost Textbook Initiative, a groundbreaking program aimed at reducing student expenses and enhancing academic accessibility by eliminating textbook costs for students taking some of the most-enrolled General Education (GE) courses. Set to officially begin in the fall of 2025, the initiative has already made significant progress, with over 165 classes in the fall 2024 semester offering zero-cost textbooks to students. Sterling College now ensures a track through the General Education program can be completed without requiring any textbook expenses, underscoring the college’s commitment to affordability and student success.
“By launching this program, Sterling College is reducing financial burdens and ensuring that students have immediate access to the resources they need for success. This program is yet another way that Sterling partners with families to make higher education affordable,” said Dr. Scott Rich, president.
