Dr. Jennifer R. Bolton
Dr. Jennifer R. Bolton started at UNC-Chapel Hill as a Biology major, but after interning for a year with Cru in Uppsala, Sweden, became a Religious Studies major, Biology minor. After graduation she spent the better part of ten years doing campus ministry in Uppsala, Sweden. During that time, she completed a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Regent College taking a mixture of online and in-person classes. Her dissertation was on secularism in Sweden. She then left staff with Cru and moved to Durham, England where she competed her Ph.D. in Theology and Religion, with a focus on the Danish theologian, Søren Kierkegaard, and the intersection of his thought with practical theology.
She is an East Coast native, growing up in Virginia and North Carolina, but has spent her adult life in Sweden, Canada, and England. She met her husband, Jack, in England while they were both doing their Ph.D. work and they moved back to the US in June before getting married in July 2024. She enjoys hiking, almost any sport (both watching and playing), and reading fiction (especially fantasy literature).
