Sterling College will welcome Mark Schupbach, retired businessman and lay Bible leader, on Friday, September 22, 2023, for the fall Ross and Fern Freeman Lecture Series for Servant Leadership. The Freeman Lecture Series speaker will deliver his message at 10 a.m. in Culbertson Auditorium in Spencer Hall on the campus of Sterling College. The public is welcome to attend this free event. 

“I am excited for Sterling College to host Mark Schupbach as the Freeman Lecturer for 2023. His breadth of experience in business and ministry will richly fulfill the aim of the Freeman Lecture Series,” said David Earle, vice president for advancement and alumni relations.

Schupbach’s involvement with the church and with ministry began more than 35 years ago. He has served as an elder and/or president on three church governing boards including Scofield Memorial Church as well as numerous non-profit boards, including The TurnAround Agenda with Dr. Tony Evans and Insight for Living with Dr. Chuck Swindoll. In addition, he served on the President’s Council at Dallas Theological Seminary for nine years.

Professionally, he founded CPF Texas, a private financial consulting firm in Dallas in 1985. He was named as one of the Top 100 Independent Advisors in America by Registered Representative Magazine and one of the Top 1,000 Financial Planners in America by Barron’s Magazine.

Schupbach has been married to Marty for 54 years. They have three married daughters and six grandchildren. They currently reside with split time between Frisco, Texas, and Lindsborg, Kan.

The Freeman Lecture Series seeks to educate individuals on the various values and applications of leadership by highlighting the servant leadership attributes present in others.
