Jonathan Evans to speak at Sterling College Freeman Lecture Series
Sterling College will welcome Jonathan Evans, mentor, author, speaker and former NFL fullback, on Thursday, October 14, 2021, for the fall Ross and Fern Freeman Lecture Series for Servant Leadership. The Freeman Lecture Series speaker will deliver his message at 1 p.m. in the Gleason Center on the campus of Sterling College. The public is welcome to attend this free event.
“I am thrilled for Sterling College to host Jonathan Evans. The aim of the Freeman Lecture Series is to enrich and encourage our campus community while raising the profile of the college. In Jonathan, I am wholly confident we have a speaker who will meet that aim. He is a dynamic, Christ-centered communicator, who embodies servant leadership in his life and ministry,” said Paul Brandes ’11, chaplain.
Evans treasures his relationship with Christ along with the opportunity to use his life to glorify God. He seeks to impact today’s athletes, men and young adults by equipping and encouraging them in their faith. Evans serves with his pastor, friend and father, Dr. Tony Evans, both in the local church and the national ministry. They also teamed up together to write “Get in the Game,” a practical guidebook filled with sports analogies and spiritual truths aimed at strengthening readers with the skills they need for living victoriously.
Evans is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a master’s degree in Christian Leadership. He also serves as the chaplain of the Dallas Cowboys and co-chaplain of the Dallas Mavericks. Jonathan is a dynamic speaker at churches, conferences, men’s events, banquets, youth, and FCA events. He is committed to developing the next generation of devoted Christian leaders.
Evans and his wife, Kanika, are the proud parents of Kelsey, Jonathan II, Kamden, Kylar & Jade Wynter. They reside in Dallas, Texas.
The Freeman Lecture Series seeks to educate individuals on the various values and applications of leadership by highlighting the servant leadership attributes present in others.
