Sterling College plans for on-campus classes for Fall 2020
Sterling College has announced it plans for on-campus classes to resume this fall, beginning on August 26, 2020. New Student Orientation and move-in weekends are planned to take place as originally scheduled with move-in for fall student-athletes taking place on August 7, move-in for all remaining new students taking place on August 22 and New Student Orientation officially kicking off on August 22, also.
“We are excited to welcome students back to campus for the fall semester. These have been challenging days, but we will overcome these challenging days together as the Sterling College family. As always, our commitment is to have the safest learning environment available for the students we serve,” said Dr. Scott Rich, president.
“Sterling is positioned well to continue offering a valuable and affordable education to all of our students during this time of uncertainty due to the pandemic. We will ensure that students, faculty, and staff have access to the resources they need to learn, teach and lead with confidence. We are taking every precaution we possibly can to prepare our campus for effective teaching and learning this fall,” said Dr. Ken Brown, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the College.
In order to protect students, faculty, and staff, Sterling will implement mitigation strategies and safety protocols in keeping with recommendations from health and governmental agencies. These include increased sanitation, social distancing where appropriate and testing and healthcare support.
“For the foreseeable future, Sterling College will continue closely monitoring recommended best practices for preparing our campus to again host students, faculty and staff in a safe and responsible manner. We will exercise caution and diligence in identifying and completing next steps to protect our Sterling community,” said Jason Briar ’99, vice president for student life.
