Laudermilk named Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs

Sterling College announced that Dr. Erin Laudermilk of Sterling, Kansas, has begun her new responsibilities as the associate vice president for academic affairs. In addition to her new position, Laudermilk will continue as a professor of athletic training at the College.

Her position will assist the vice president for academic affairs with leadership, operations, and responsibilities within the Office of Academic Affairs.

“Erin is a great fit for this role. She is well-known and respected throughout our institution and beyond, and presents multiple areas of evidence through her skills, qualifications, and experience as related to this administrative position. She has a passion for the College and working with her fellow faculty members,” said Ken Brown, vice president for academic affairs.

Laudermilk was named to the Kansas Independent College Association Faculty of Distinction for her excellence in media and innovative teaching in 2014. She also received Sterling College’s McCreery Teaching award in 2014. She holds a Ph.D. in Education from Northcentral University, an M.S. in Health and Human Performance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and a B.S. in Biology from Saint Joseph's College. She has worked at Sterling College since 2007.

“I am very excited about this position and the opportunity to utilize my background in athletic training education and accreditation to benefit the entirety of our institution. I look forward to serving the faculty and students and hope to continue to build and grow our programs while remaining true to and celebrating our mission,” said Laudermilk.
