The first convocation of the Sterling College academic year will take place Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. in Culbertson Auditorium in Spencer Hall. Keynote speaker Dr. Scott Rich, Sterling College president, will deliver his speech “Remember These Things” as students and employees gather to celebrate the start of classes. The public is invited to attend this free event.

Rich became the 12th president of Sterling College in 2013, after serving as acting president and executive vice president for a year and as chief financial officer from 2008-13. Under Rich’s leadership, Sterling has completed its 2011-15 strategic plan and has launched its strategic plan to propel Sterling into 2020, Guard and Guide.

Rich holds a master’s in business administration from Liberty University and a doctorate in education from North Central University. He and his wife, Kathy, are actively involved in their local church. They have three boys.
