Beginning Nov. 1, Sheila Bird will serve as Sterling College’s associate vice president for advancement. Bird, who was the director of planned giving, has worked at Sterling College since 2013.

“We’re thrilled to have Sheila in this important role for Sterling College. She has established hundreds of trusting relationships with our alumni and friends, leading to increased giving to the College,” said Scott Carter, vice president for institutional advancement and external relations.

Bird left her position as director of planned giving for Sterling College in August, although she continued working with the College during her time of transition to the executive director at the Newman Regional Hospital Foundation in Emporia.

“I am really excited to continue working for Sterling College. Helping to further the mission of developing creative and thoughtful leaders who understand a maturing Christian faith is where my heart is at. There is a great need for Christ-centered education, and the work I am doing at the College helps make that opportunity affordable to students from across the country,” said Bird.
