Director of Athletic Training Ryan “Pete” Manely is now Dr. Manely after completing his doctorate of health science from Nova Southeastern University. Manely, the Sterling College McCreery Teacher of the Year in 2015, earned this degree while maintaining full-time faculty status, among his other responsibilities for the College.

“We are very pleased and excited for Pete in this latest accomplishment of earning his doctorate. To do so while maintaining so many roles on campus and within the athletic training community is really an impressive accomplishment. Even with balancing a doctoral program and his leadership roles, Pete continued to bring a tremendous amount of excitement and enthusiasm to his courses and students have responded,” said Dr. Ken Brown, vice president for Academic Affairs.

Well-known for his passion for both Sterling College students and the Athletic Training Program, Manely has been president of the NAIA Athletic Trainer’s Association since 2013, was named KCAC Athletic Trainer of the Year in July 2016, and named the NAIA-ATA Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2011. Manely recently received the NAIA Award of Merit for his work on the NAIA-ATA Board of Directors, and was inducted into the Barton Community College Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.
