Sterling College will be hosting two receptions this week to introduce new President Dr. Paul Maurer to the surrounding communities.
The first reception will be held Thursday, Feb. 5 after the lady warrior’s home basketball game through halftime of the men’s game (7:30 to 9:00 pm) in the Gleason Center classroom. The second reception will be held on Friday, Feb. 6 at 9 to 11 am in Heritage Hall on the Sterling College campus.
Sterling College graduated 21 students this past December.

Sterling College has released its Dean's List for the Fall 2008 semester. Criteria for the Dean’s Lists include the completion of at least twelve graded credit hours and a cumulative and semester GPA of 3.5 or better. The following 146 students were named to the list.

The Sterling College Theatre presents An Italian Straw Hat at 8:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, February 12-14, 2009, in Culbertson Auditorium on the SC campus. The Sterling College Theatre production is directed by Diane DeFranco-Kling.
The Sterling College Music Department presents All the World’s a Stage: A Musical Theatre Cabaret at 7:30 p.m., February 20-21, 2009, in Upper Wilson on the SC campus. The Cabaret will feature songs from the SC Concert Choir and small ensembles, under the direction of Assistant Professor of Music Mark Clark.
The Sterling College men’s basketball team locked up at least a share of the KCAC regular season championship, after defeating Tabor College last Saturday evening. Sterling remains two games ahead of the University of Saint Mary who lost to Kansas Wesleyan this past Saturday. Sterling can win the outright title with a win in one of its final two regular season games. Sterling’s first opportunity will be Thursday at home against Friends University on senior night.
The Sterling College women had yet another dominating performance last night as they routed the Friends University Falcons at the Gleason Center, 72-33 on senior night.
The Sterling College men’s basketball team had already earned a piece of the pie last Saturday, with a win over Friends last night they get it all to themselves. Sterling beat Friends University last night,71-67, and won the KCAC Championship outright.
