Warrior Fans Notice Upgrades to Smisor Stadium
Fans at Warrior Fest noticed several upgrades to the Warrior athletic facilities over the summer, most notably to Smisor Stadium. The moment they entered the field from the south entrance, they noticed the new state-of-the-art scoreboard on the south side of the football field. The new scoreboard features an LED display and a video screen for graphics and announcements, allowing fans to see information and statistics during athletic events.
In addition, a size upgrade was made to the Warriors’ locker room. Football coaches and players have always stressed the importance of the locker room—it can help set the tone before the game and help a team rejuvenate at halftime. This new and improved facility will give the Warriors plenty of room to mentally prepare for every home contest.
To accommodate for the locker room expansion, the layout of the concessions stand has changed. The ordering window moved from the inside of the stadium to the west side, which is marked by a new awning. This improvement will create more space for patrons to order concessions, all while staying out of the sun.
The last major change is the way the Warriors enter the field. Instead of entering near the north end zone, the Warriors will take the field through the tunnel running between the stands, surrounded by the faithful Sterling Warriors’ fan base.
Spectators entered Smisor Stadium from two entry points, both on the west side of the field. Those who sat in the north section of the stands entered from the north stadium entrance, and those sitting in the south section of the stands entered from the main stadium entrance. To go to and from the north and south stands, fans either went down and outside the stadium with their ticket stub to gain entrance to the other section of stands or they went through the stands around the players’ tunnel.
The upgrades made it important for fans to keep their ticket stubs with them after entering Smisor Stadium. The ticket stub is the key to re-entry for fans who choose to leave the stadium at any time during the event. To re-enter the stadium, fans showed their ticket stubs to gate attendants. There was no limit to the amount of times someone could re-enter the stadium, as long as they had their ticket stub with them.
Soccer fans noticed the new press box built this summer at the soccer field. The addition to the soccer field allowed statisticians and announcers a better view of the event, and will allow for a great camera angle for streaming live footage of the games.
