Ten Sterling College students named to athletic training honor roll
The 2014 calendar year set a new record for the Sterling College Athletic Training Program. Leading the entire state with seven students awarded First Team All-Academic Honors, the Kansas Athletic Trainers’ Society recognized 10 Sterling College students for their outstanding academic achievement. Based on 2014 grade point averages and academic standing, KATS recognized 96 students from across the state of Kansas who attend athletic training programs accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education.
“I am very proud of the athletic training students in our program. We continue to require excellence and professionalism from them, and they continue to deliver. They work hard, support each other and stay positive, even when the classes get tough and the schedules are busy,” said Pete Manely, director of the Athletic Training Program.
Students receiving KATS First Team All-Academic honors must be a junior or above with a minimum grade point average of 3.8. Sterling College students receiving this honor are Lori Dauer of Falun, Kansas; Alyssa Kieffer of Clifton, Kansas; Rebecca Grasha of Olathe, Colorado; Megan Yoder of Haven, Kansas; Kate Brickell of Valley Falls, Kansas; Josh Hoover of Elbing, Kansas; and Michael Utter of Peoria, Arizona.
