Student printmaking show opens Feb. 2 at Sterling College

A fresh batch of original art will come to the Sterling community as the 2017 Student Printmaking Show and Sale will take place on Thursday, Feb. 2, from 5-7 p.m. in the Sterling College Art and Media Center gallery. Students from the interterm printmaking classes will display and sell their prints on paper, fabric and other surfaces in a variety of formats including prints for framing, cards, scarves and banners created through a variety of printmaking techniques.

“The printmaking class has always been a great opportunity for students and this year is no different. They not only learn a variety of approaches but get to conclude the course with this printmaking show and sale. There has been some very inventive work generated this time and I’m looking forward to seeing what the students do next.,” said Daniel Swartz, assistant professor of art and design.

As students pay for their own supplies for the course, all money goes to the student who made the work, therefore cash is required. Prints will be priced as low as $1. The public is invited to attend the exhibit and sale.
