Two novice speakers from Sterling College brought home awards from the Border Wars Swing Forensics Tournament at Kansas Wesleyan University Feb. 2-4, 2018. Senior Stephen Jenkins of Topeka, Kansas, finished day one of the tournament by placing second in persuasive speaking. Day two of the tournament brought a third place finish in persuasive speaking for Jenkins. He was named top novice speaker in both events.

Freshman Adam Moore of Hutchinson, Kansas, competed in after dinner speaking on the first day of competition. He placed third in his event and was also named top novice speaker.
