Sterling College announced a partnership with YouVisit, a leader in the field of virtual campus tours. Prospective students and families can now take a virtual campus tour from home. The new Sterling College campus tour site includes 15 stops around campus where visitors will be able to hear a short description of each location, watch videos, view photos and browse particular spaces with a 360-degree view.

“With a vast amount of students coming from out of state this will give Sterling College the ability to reach them at home. The virtual tour serves as a gateway to a personal visit, bringing to life our beautiful campus and incredible community. We often have a few students in each class that do not have the ability to visit in person before enrolling as a Sterling College student, this tool will help those students feel more comfortable once they arrive to Sterling, Kansas. When recruiters are on the road traveling, they will be able to give families an idea of our campus right away, helping us stand out when sharing about Sterling College. The YouVisit site is so versatile that we are eager to develop all of the opportunities now made available to us,” said Dennis Dutton, director of admissions.

As users enter the on-screen walking tours, Sterling College’s Kacie Hastings serves as the face and voice of the College and highlights locations around campus including the history of Cooper Hall, the convenience of Mabee Library, the instruction in classrooms and the community in each of the dormitories.

“The company (YouVisit) generally uses hired actors and actresses to guide their tours. After reviewing our options, the team working on the virtual tour really felt that we needed a more genuine tour guide experience. Being a tour guide for the past seven years and a Sterling College theatre graduate, I was thrilled to be in the production studio and share about my Alma Mater. I think that the overall effect is much more real and Sterling College genuine,” said Kacie Hastings, fine and performing arts admissions counselor.

The tour provides a unique perspective and places online visitors virtually on campus without having to leave their home computer or mobile device. Prospective students and families, alumni, and interested parties should visit the campus tours pages at www.sterling.edu/virtual-tour. For questions, contact Kacie Hastings at khastings@sterling.edu.
