Sterling College Hosts Spring 2025 Faith and Learning Conference

Sterling College welcomed students, faculty, community members, and special guests to its Spring 2025 Faith and Learning Conference on March 28, providing an inspiring platform for exploring the intersection of faith and intellectual inquiry.
The conference, held in Culbertson Auditorium and Heritage Hall, featured keynote speaker Jeff Reimer, senior editor of Comment magazine, who delivered a compelling address titled “The Intellectual Virtues of the Small Magazine.” Reimer discussed the importance of smaller publications in fostering thoughtful discourse, drawing from his experiences as a writer and editor.
The afternoon session featured presentations from Sterling College students who shared their original research papers, addressing the theme of how learning in their specific fields informs their understanding and practice of faith. The winning paper was announced following the presentations, showcasing the academic engagement of the college’s student body.
“The Faith and Learning Conference showcases our desire to think through our faith. Sterling College does not simply permit faculty and students to be thoughtful about our faith, it encourages it,” said Dr. Shebuel Varghese, director for the integration of faith and learning.
