Sterling College to host Davis, Neustrom for Spiritual Emphasis Week

Sterling College will host its Spiritual Emphasis Week on September 9-13. The featured speakers are the Rev. Dr. Don Davis and Paul Neustrom, author and speaker. Davis will be the featured speaker for chapel and the public is invited to attend on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Culbertson Auditorium. Neustrom, will be on the Sterling College campus for several Spiritual Emphasis Week events.

Their commitment to teaching the Word of God and guiding us in the truth of Scripture is a true blessing. I trust the Lord will use them to deepen our understanding of His promises and encourage us to stand firm in our faith,” said Jose Carrillo, campus pastor. 

The schedule for the College’s Spiritual Emphasis Week begins with worship and testimonies on Monday outside the Student Union at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday will feature chapel at 10 a.m. in Culbertson Auditorium in Spencer Hall. Wednesday evening features Worship and Sharing at 6:30 p.m. in Heritage Hall in Cooper Hall. Thursday will feature two events including Fellowship Hour at 6:30 p.m. in Heritage Hall, followed by Worship, Sharing and Prayers at 7:30 p.m. in Heritage Hall. Spiritual Emphasis Week will conclude on Friday with chapel for each men’s ministry and women’s ministry meeting at 10 a.m and then Worship and Prayers at 11 a.m. in the Cornerstone Room in the Student Union. 

Dr. Davis will be preaching from 1 Corinthians 4 with the sermon titled “A Place to Stand.” Davis currently serves as senior executive advisor to the president at World Impact, a global organization dedicated to training pastoral and ministry leaders in urban churches. Davis was recently awarded by his alma mater, Wheaton College, as its 2024 Alumnus of the Year for Distinguished Service to Society. 

Paul Neustrom, a bestselling author known for his transformative personal story in Death of a Yellow Page Salesman, returns to Sterling College following his impactful visit in April. Paul and Cherise’s ministry of speaking and talks on his bestselling books, including his latest bestseller, “Author’s Playbook.”
