Sterling College Homecoming begins Oct. 13

Beginning on Thursday, Oct. 13, alumni will travel back to Sterling College to experience the Homecoming 2016 festivities, many of which the community is invited to attend. Thursday night, beginning at 5 p.m., an opening reception for “Through a Forgotten Lens” photography exhibit will take place at the Sterling College Art and Media Center. Later that night, beginning at 8 p.m., Sterling College will present the opening of “Oklahoma!” in Culbertson Auditorium. Friday’s festivities will include the Second Annual Warrior Golf Tournament, a Homecoming Chapel, the Warriors Pep Rally, the State of the College Address, the Warrior women’s and men’s soccer games, the Homecoming Welcome Reception, as well as the Alumni Banquet and Awards Dinner.

On Saturday morning beginning at 7:30 a.m., the community is invited to attend the Annual Pancake and Sausage Feed at United Presbyterian Church in support of the Lady Warrior basketball team, the Homecoming Parade at 9:45 a.m., the Homecoming Hangout and Tailgate beginning at 11 a.m., and the Homecoming Coronation at 1 p.m.

Saturday will also include an alumni softball game, a game of ultimate Frisbee, and the Homecoming football game beginning at 1:30 p.m. against Bethel College.

“Oklahoma!” will run Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m. and have a matinee performance on Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are reserved seating and can be ordered online, purchased during Homecoming check-in or at the Box Office Homecoming Weekend. Guests who want to use a Sterling College theatre production voucher will need to reserve their tickets at the Box Office window in Spencer Hall. The Box Office will open at 7 p.m. on show nights and at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

There will be reunions for classes ending 6’s and 1’s from 1956-2006, as well as Young Alumni for Classes of 2011-16 and Golden Club (Classes of 1965 and before). Reunions will be held at different times and places. Further information can be found at sterling.edu/reunions.

Sterling College Alumni and guests can register at the Alumni Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
