Sterling College Hires Graphic Designer/Assistant
Sterling College is pleased to announce the hiring of Kelly Flaherty, as graphic designer and assistant to the president's office. She began on November 1 in this new role.
"Kelly brings a great understanding of graphic design. I look forward to seeing her grow into this position and increase the quality of our design materials" said Karin Swihart, director of marketing and presidential communications. Flaherty's position came out of the merging of the office of marketing communications with the president's office.
Flaherty graduated with a BFA in graphic design and creative writing from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2009 and has since been working as a freelance graphic designer. She comes to Sterling with experience in web design, print, writing and organization.
"Every task has challenged me to step out of my comfort zone in some way," said Flaherty, "I couldn't be more pleased about that."
Flaherty is new to the area but visited during Sterling's Homecoming Spirit week. "My first day was on the twin dress up day," said Flaherty, "It was amusing to see boys sharing a single sweater, but nice to see how much school spirit everyone seemed to have."
