Sterling College Commencement Weekend begins Friday, May 13
Beginning with Senior Breakfast in the cafeteria on Friday morning, Sterling College seniors will celebrate their final days as students this weekend. The public is invited to attend Baccalaureate in Culbertson Auditorium on Friday, May 13, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The worship service will include music, student reflections, a special time of prayer, and a sermon from Chaplain Christian Dashiell. Commencement will begin at 9:45 a.m. on East Cooper Lawn on Saturday, and the public is welcome to attend the celebratory event with the address “Let God Write Your Story,” delivered by Kimberly (McCreery) Kuo, senior vice president for public affairs at Coca-Cola Consolidated.
Kuo, Sterling native and granddaughter of former Sterling College president William McCreery, has 22 years of marketing and communications experience at the highest levels of politics, government, corporations and technology startups. She has worked as a top press aide, as the primary spokesperson for AOL Inc., and in investor relations and marketing at multiple technology startups.
Kuo also launched MyWireless.org, an advocacy initiative for CTIA-The Wireless Association that grew to the third largest advocacy group in the country in less than four years.
In the case of inclement weather, Sterling College will hold Commencement in Gleason Physical Education Center. The announcement will be made on Thursday on the College’s website and social media outlets in the event the ceremony is moved indoors.
