Wednesday, March 15, 2017

Sterling College has announced the winners of the second Great Plains Annual Photography Competition, a juried show for high school students. The Best of Show, along with the grand prize of a new camera, will be awarded to Kaden Classen of Liberal High School and Second Best of Show will be awarded to Ali Levens of Syracuse High School. Along with the category winners, Classen and Levens will be recognized at the Great Plains Photography Day on the Sterling College campus on May 5, 2017.

“The competition grew in depth and diversity this year, which was thrilling to see. Skills in photography are an asset in many branches of art, so we are excited to see these young photographers developing that now. We would love to have them pursue their passion for photography at Sterling College but wish them luck wherever they attend,” said Daniel Swartz, assistant professor of art and design.

Six students were also recognized as category winners and will receive awards for their photos.
