Rhoads, Delgado, and Malette Named All-KCAC
Wichita, Kan. – Lacey Rhoads, Tiffany Delgado, and Michelle Malette have received Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Honors for their efforts during the 2011 Women's Soccer Season. Rhoads was named to the All-KCAC Second Team while Delgado and Malette were named All-KCAC Honorable Mention. The KCAC Women's Soccer Head Coaches voted on the awards.
As a senior, Rhoads was the field leader for the Lady Warriors during her final year of athletic eligibility. As a central midfielder, Rhoads started all 17 games for SC scoring six goals and assisting on two others for a total of 14 points.
Delgado, also a senior, played both in the backline and in the midfield during the season. Defensively, Delgado was the leader for Sterling, anchoring SC's defensive efforts. When Delgado was able to make runs into the offensive side of the field, she was able to score one goal and also assist on a goal.
In her junior campaign, Malette was Rhoads's counterpart as the other center midfielder. Malette started all 17 games for the Lady Warriors, finishing the year with three goals and two assists.
The Lady Warriors were 7-10 on the season, 3-6 in the KCAC and missed the KCAC Tournament by one game.
