More than 20 local businesses and organizations have contributed funds to bring Kathy Kosins, critically and nationally acclaimed jazz vocalist, composer and artist, to Sterling for a concert on Tuesday, March 30, at 7 p.m. in Culbertson Auditorium on the Sterling College campus.

Sterling College is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Gregory P. Kerr as its vice president for academic affairs. Dr. Kerr comes to Sterling from Bluefield College in Bluefield, Va., where he has served as the chair of the Division of Science and Mathematics and as interim vice president for academic affairs. He will assume duties at Sterling on July 1.

On Monday, March 29, at 10 a.m. in Thompson Hall, room 142, the biology department will host a seminar titled "Shake a Leg: Dissecting the Complex Dance Moves of Male Wolf Spider Courtship Displays."

Dr. Craig Smith, chair of the Theology and Ministry Department at Sterling College, continues to explore a Scriptural passage, Matthew 5:43-48, that has been of particular interest to him since he wrote "At the Cross: At the Crossroads," published in 2006 with OMF Lit. He has recently written "Loving Our Enemies: A Divine Task," a shorter piece which is also based on the Matthew 5 passage. This article will appear in the September/October issue of "Preaching" and is one of four articles by Dr. Smith that will be published this year.
