MTC donation supports art department at Sterling College

Local telecommunications provider MTC awarded a donation to the Sterling College Department of Art and Design for a new wide-format printer. The art department purchased an Epson Stylus R2880 which improves the quality of educational delivery in many of the College’s classes.

“Our wide-format printers, used mainly by the graphic design and photography classes, were about 10 years old and were in need of replacing. Upgrading the printer has allowed for greater consistency in the color output between our printers, making it easier for students to produce professional looking portfolio work as they look for employment,” said Daniel Swartz, chair of the Department of Art and Design.

Each year MTC supports local, nonprofit community projects and organizations “as an important investment in the future.” They have stores in four communities – Little River, Lyons, Sterling and Marquette – providing services to Rice and Western McPherson Counties.

“Local businesses, such as MTC, who invest in the quality of our academic programs at Sterling College are truly appreciated. With their partnership in the classroom, our professors and students are able to expand curriculum and achieve a wider array of professional experiences, which we strive to provide for our students,” said Scott Carter, vice president for institutional advancement and external relations.

Formed in 1905, MTC offers a local location and MTC employees to help customers with any communication issues or needs in Little River, Lyons, Sterling and Marquette. They offer a variety of services including high speed Internet, long distance service, computer repair and sales services and Nex-Tech Wireless service to customers in Rice and Western McPherson Counties.
