Morris named Outstanding Graduating Senior
Graduate Randi Morris ’13 was named an Outstanding Graduating Senior by the Wichita section of the American Chemical Society on April 30 on the campus of Newman University. The award is given to seniors who have excelled academically with a minimum 3.5 grade point average and are nominated by their college or university.“Randi has been an outstanding student academically,” said Dr. Curtis Beechan, professor of chemistry. “She has also been very helpful in things she has done for the chemistry department and for other students.”
Morris of Hutchinson, Kan., graduated in May with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She is the daughter of Loren and Pam Morris.
The American Chemical Society’s mission is to “improve people’s lives through the transforming power of chemistry.” They are the world’s largest scientific society with over 163,000 members in over 100 countries. ACS has 187 local sections across the United States, including a Wichita chapter that covers approximately three-fourths of Kansas.
