Langford Signs Pro Contract With Hamburg Huskies
Senior Quarterback Reggie Langford (SR/Rancho Cordova, Calif.) has officially signed a contract to play for the Hamburg Huskies of the German Football League. Langford is the first Warrior in Sterling Football history to sign a professional contract with the GFL.
"I am truly grateful for this opportunity. I am not only excited to play professional football, but I am also excited to get the chance to travel and experience a different culture as well. I wouldn't be here without all the people who supported me and believed in me," said Langford, "Without Sterling College giving me a chance I wouldn't be in the position I am in today. I would like to thank the coaching staff and everyone I have crossed paths with while at Sterling College. I am glad to be a Hamburg Husky, but I will always be a Warrior!"
Based out of Hamburg, Germany, the Hamburg Huskies are a part of the 16 team German Football League. The Huskies saw great success in 2014 winning the 2014 Northern Division title of the GFL 2 to earn a promotion to the GFL for the first time in its 20 year history.
"Reggie may be a once in a career kind of student/athlete. His combination of physical talent, strong minded tenacity, courage, and academic achievement are in the top 1 % of all the collegiate athletes I have coached the past 23 years," said Head Football Coach Andy Lambert, "I am very blessed to have coached him and could not be prouder of who he has become. I look forward to all he will accomplish in this next phase of his life."
