Ehresman hired for Sterling College Director of Career Services
Terry Ehresman of Wichita, Kansas, joined the Office of Student Life as the director of career services and first year programs on March 9. Ehresman comes to Sterling College with more than 25 years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry, serving in a variety of management roles. As a hiring manager, he has seen hundreds of resumes and mentored many college students in the transition from college to their first full-time jobs.
“Terry’s experience in management, customer service, his professional network and knowledge of businesses in Wichita will be a benefit to our career services program. He is also familiar with the Sterling College student experience through his family and serving on the Parent Council as his two sons, daughter-in-law and nephew graduated from Sterling, the most recent in 2014,” said Tina Wohler, vice president for student life.
Ehresman will also help students identify career interests, prepare for graduate school, build resumes, research internship potentials and explore career options.
“I’m very excited to be at Sterling College and help students prepare for a full-time job. It is very important to invest in students’ lives through mentoring and guiding them as they learn about resumes, careers and job interviews. There are so many details to learn and I hope to pass on as much knowledge as I can while they are here,” said Ehresman.
Ehresman and his wife, Joan, are looking forward to moving to Sterling this summer. Their sons are Matt ’10 and Ryan ’14. Matt is married to Tillie (Wilbeck) Ehresman ’13.
