The Sterling Community Band will be performing their first concert of the year on Tuesday, November 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Upper Wilson Hall on the campus of Sterling College. The concert will open with the Sterling College Flute Choir, and followed by the SC Wind Ensemble playing movements from Second Suite in F for Military Band by Gustav Holst. Next, the community band, consisting of college students and members of the Sterling and surrounding communities, will take the stage.
Sterling College students found themselves presented with a unique opportunity this fall. Mike Redondo, President of the Catholic Student Association (CSA) on campus, was looking for opportunities to get to know some of the Catholic students better and found the perfect solution through a road trip to a monastery.
The debate and forensics team capped off their second consecutive week of long distance travels by finishing 2nd at the Colorado College Invitational Tournament and 1st at the University of Central Missouri tournament.
As the soccer season came to a close, Sterling College Soccer fans noticed a new scoreboard gracing the field, thanks to a gift from some avid supporters of Sterling College and its athletic program. The scoreboard is one of the many updates you will see at Sterling College this year.
Wichita, Kan. – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference has released the 2011 Volleyball All-Conference Awards. Sterling's Sara Steria was named to the All-KCAC First Team, highlighting the group of five Lady Warriors who received All-KCAC awards. Adriana Gonzalez was named All-KCAC Second Team while Ciara Ramos, Caitlin Magee, and Mamaiataloa Fiaseu were named All-KCAC Honorable Mention.

Prichard was named to the All-KCAC Second Team while Chavez and Sanchez were named All-KCAC Honorable Mention. The KCAC Men's Soccer Head Coaches voted on the awards.

Sterling, Kan. – The Sterling College Warrior football team has forfeited three games of the 2011 season after self-reporting the unintentional use of an ineligible player.
Cara Spencer, a senior at Sterling College, who has performed in more than seven productions during her four years at Sterling, has been practicing a different role this time: director. Spencer will be directing her senior show, Proposals, by Neil Simon, showing November 11 and 12 at 8:00 p.m. in Culbertson Auditorium on the campus of Sterling College.
When KWCH channel 12 news received the nomination from Sterling townspeople to feature Sterling in their “One of a Kind” contest, they responded with alacrity. Sterling boasts great community and fantastic stories, including being influential in the lives of a cancer survivor, the Miller High Life guy, and an up and coming country music singer. The town is also home to a host of faithful professors, teachers, businessmen and women, and families who give Sterling its reputation as an accepting community.
