Denton Earns First Team Honors
Sterling, Kan. - The Sterling College Volleyball Team had three players earn All-Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Honors during the 2010 season. Brooke Denton earned First Team All-KCAC honors, Sara Steria earned Second Team All-KCAC honors, and Adriana Gonzalez earned All-KCAC Honorable Mention.
Denton earns All-KCAC First Team honors in her senior season. Brooke was a crucial player for Sterling in a season where they finished four spots higher than predicted. Denton had 241 kills on the season and a 0.186 hitting percentage.
As a sophomore, Steria has been selected to the All-KCAC Second Team. Sara was the team leader in kills in 2010 with 388 and aces with 45.
Adriana Gonzalez has earned Honorable Mention All-KCAC and is receiving post season honors for the second season in a row. Last year as a freshman, Gonzalez was All-KCAC Second Team. As the setter for the Warriors, Gonzalez dictated the pace of play for Sterling in 2010 and led the team in assists with 897.
The Sterling College Volleyball Team finished the 2010 season with a 7-12 KCAC record, 11-21 overall.
