Dorothy Kempf

Dorothy started teaching at Sterling College in the Department of Exercise Science in 2010. Dorothy taught exercise science classes and was the head men's and women's swimming coach at Asbury University in Kentucky for five years prior to coming to Sterling. At Asbury, she was four time Appalachian Conference Swimming Coach of the year and the NAIA National Swimming Coach of the year in 2008. Prior to living in Kentucky, she taught 20 years of elementary and secondary Physical Education and coached mainly in the Lawrence, Kan., public schools. 

"I love teaching at Sterling where I enjoy talking with students about the importance taking charge of their health and their relationship with Christ on a daily basis," said Kempf.

Dorothy has been married to our former athletic director, Gary Kempf, for 38 years. They have two children and five grandchildren. Dorothy and Gary reside in Sterling.
